According to report from our correspondent (Yan Liu), Xiamen Riken Industrial Co.,Ltd. held a ceremony yesterday afternoon to celebrate production kickoff in its new plant. Second to King Long, this key project formally kicked off its production in Jimei Mechanical Industry Zone. Deputy mayor Mr. Chonggeng Ye attended the ceremony.
Xiamen Riken is exclusively funded by Taiwan Riken Industrial Co.,Ltd., the largest manufacturer of piston rings and cylinders in Taiwan. It is a professional company that manufactures key components for automobile and motorcycle engines. Xiamen Riken started to build new plants in Jimei Mechanical Industry Zone in last November. Compared with old plants in Xinglin, new plants will achieve quadruple capacity and annual production value of 400-500 million yuan.
According to the speech made by Deputy mayor Mr. Chonggeng Ye, Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and Xiamen Municipal Government have been devoted to integrating, strengthening and expanding Xiamen industrial chains of cars and parts in the new round of leapfrog developments. Ever since the foundation of construction headquarters of Jimei Mechanical Industry Zone in last December, all constructions and investment attractions have been in a satisfactory trend. Production kickoff of new plants of Xiamen Riken showed that infrastructures and associated industries in the Zone had been increasingly mature and complete. According to Mr. Chonggeng Ye, Xiamen stood out from numerous cities and became one of the eight export bases of cars and parts on August 17. It showed affirmation and expectation of the country for developments of Xiamen in the car and part industries. Xiamen ushered in a new development opportunity for the car and part industries. There has been more than 160 enterprises of cars and parts in Xiamen by now. Export values have reached 326 million dollars up to this October.
